SIX CHAKRAS
BY Dobb Schreiber
FADE IN:
Two men, late 30's. SPENCE a very successful stock broker.
RYAN a writer. They are in SPENCE'S home office. A building
separate from the main house, both of which have stunning
views of the pacific ocean, as well as the southern
California seaside. They are speaking of what men want
and what women want, and how to get it.
SPENCE'S office stands on the third floor over looking
the pool, hot tub and patio area. Down by the pool are
SPENCE'S wife, MICHELLE, and RYAN'S fiancee, ANGIE.
EXT. LEDGE OF SPENCE'S OFFICE - DAY
SPENCE and RYAN are looking down on MICHELLE and ANGIE, who
are having a drink by the pool below.
SPENCE
Men want women. Women want comfort, luxury,
stability for their family. They also want power
but want to control it through their man.
(a beat)
I think men want money and power only because
it can get them women.
(a beat)
Would you rather be the president, the most powerful
man on earth, one who has power over life and death.
Or be Rupert Murdoch, or the dude from Virgin, or
Ted Turner, who control the media, controlling how
people think. But, and this is a big but here, you
couldn't have sex. You could have no women.
You'd only use your dick to pee and your balls
to scratch. Or.
(a beat)
Would you rather be Hugh Hefner,
not Hugh Hefner, because he has power.
Would you rather be the dude who parks the cars
at the Playboy mansion. As long as he got superstar,
playboy ass every day of his life? Superstar Playboy
ass. I'm talking Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra,
Jenna Jamison, superstar Playboy ass, until you
were 85 years old, and on your loast dose of Viagra,
Tell me, who would you rather be?

EXT. PATIO POOL - DAY
ANGIE and MICHELLE talking with drinks by the pool.
ANGIE
Are you happy with Spence?
MICHELLE
What do you mean by that,
(a beat)
Bitch!?
ANGIE
I love Ryan but sometimes I think I want more.
MICHELLE
Well, have you thought, just sat and thought about
what you want out of life? What would make you happy?
(several beats)
I think some women are sedued by power, while some women
just want to be useful.
What use to you serve Angie? Are you useful?
ANGIE
I make Ryan happy, I complete him.
MICHELLE
But you just said you weren't sure
if you were happy with him.
(a beat)
Perhaps you lust for power that Ryan
cannot give you. You want to play more.
ANGIE
I want to play more?
MICHELLE
See you admit it.
(a beat)
Men love toys, and like to play with their toys.
Women love games and we like to win our games.
Our game is manipulation, we manipulate men to
get what we want. What we need to win our game.
Sex, and how we look are the tools we use to
seduce men. They are the loaded die that we use
when we gamble and take our chances with men.
Men are our game peice on the board of life
that we control with sex.
ANGIE
Wow, how'd you come up with that?
MICHELLE
Spence and I smoke alot of pot.
MICHELLE turns to look up at RYAN and SPENCE, who move
inside the office.
CUT TO:
INT. SPENCE'S OFFICE - DAY
SPENCE'S desk sits in front of several computer screens tracking the
stock market with real time, state of the art equipment.
There is an HDTV showing CNBC.
A framed photo of Al Pachino in "Scareface"
is seen in the background.
RYAN sits opposite GREG, they resume their conversation.
RYAN
I like girls, and want to be successful.
Sex can often be a substitute for being successful,
For being respected in your field, whatever that may be.
SPENCE
That's an interesting point, perhaps it works also in
the reverse.
(a beat)
Success could be a substitute for men who are uncomfortable
around women, or just have a hard time pickin up girls.
RYAN
What I really want is to know God.
SPENCE
How's that?
RYAN
I want to be one with God.
You must be able to know human love and
happiness, in order to exsperience love of the divine.
(a beat)
You talk of money, and sex and power.
These are very base, material desires, that only
lead to more desires, and you are never satisfied.
SPENCE
Enlighten me.
RYAN
The hoarding of things implies a lack of
faith in God, and a lack of faith in yourself to provide
for the future.
(a beat)
It is important to make money and be secure, but it
is also important not to be sucked in by greed.
(a beat)
I want to be one with God, to love all.
Who sees variety and not unity wanders on from
death to death.
SPENCE
That's pretty deep.
So you love everyone all the time?
RYAN
I put in for the license plate love all,
hopefully I'll get it.
CUT TO:
ANGIE
Some women are often seduced by power. But I
think I want what Ryan wants.
MICHELLE
OK, what does he want?
ANGIE
He's been working on stilling his mind.
(a beat)
He says you can only be truly peaceful
when the river of the mind is still.
(a beat)
Then you can know yourself, and you
can know god.
(a beat)
And you can know that god and you are
one in the same.
MICHELLE
Wow, that's pretty deep, how did you come
up with that?
ANGIE
Ryan and I have stopped smoking pot.
